Tepoztlán, which means "place of broken stones" (in the indigenous dialect). These rocks have a particular identity. In the place where the mountains rise, is a huge pyramid known as Tepozteco. This mountain shines because of the secret symbols, the prehistoric monuments, the abyss of the deep unknown which happens day-by-day until the high rocks climb to reach the sky with their fingers of imagination. It's wonderful to contemplate this huge jungle and its exuberant existence . The tropical plants make this place a hidden paradise for everybody. There are lots of leafy trees and a great variety of mushrooms. The fruit trees will guide your through the winding paths, while the flowers adorn your journey. The song of the birds will accompany you. The subtropical weather, the quality of the earth and the mist define the local geography. It's twenty thousand hectares of forest make it look like a huge nursery. Many of the local plants hae medical uses. That's why it has been considered a sacred valley since the prehispanic epoch.

It's located only 46 miles from the largest city in the world, preserving aspects of culture that date back to pre-Colombian times. Visible from certain hillside peaks in Cuernavaca (30 minutes away), Tepoztlan is pristine. It is set apart enough to preserve its unique feel, but only a hearbeat away from major transportation arteries. This convenient location provides easy access to Cuernavaca, México city, Taxco, Acapulco, and other recreational, archeological and tourist destinations.
